To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Sleep walking injury I have been sleep walking on a regular basis. It started after the shock of Hurricane Ivan destroying our home and everything in it. I was in shock and my wife wound up in the hospital with a bad lung infection from living/sleeping in the rubble for 2 months before we received a FEMA trailer. The Gov’t wouldn’t give us one because some bureaucrat decided my income was too high to qualify. My wife’s almost dying changed their minds, along with a threatening letter from her Doctor! So I’ve been sleep walking ever since. Now to what happened– New Years Eve 2007/08. We were not celebrating and turned in before midnight. I don’t know what time it was, but I sleepwalked. I woke up sitting in a chair in our garage with my legs crossed, a gun in my hand, and a hole in my leg. (I am a gun collector, and this was my favorite pistol salvaged from Ivan. I lost a whole bunch of valuable guns). There was a 38 cal. hole entrance wound, and the exit wound you could have driven a Mack truck thru. There was blood, muscle, cartilege and more blood all over the garage, and I wound up News Years in the emergency room, while the cops investigated the shooting. Happy New Year! The doctor said that the bullet expanded and came within a fraction of hitting the main artery in the leg, in which case I would have bled to death before the EMT’s would’ve got to me. So now, at night my wife locks all the gun cases up and hides the keys. So far very effective. End of story. Comments
