what’s my problem

I expirienced electrical stimuli in my legs in 1991 just prior to sleep. A few Tylenol later nighty nite. This continued 2 /- a week for 5 years progressively getting worse. In 96′ I required cervical fusion, which introduced me to narcotics. I noticed no leg discomfort until I stop taking meds.

The electical stimuli returned in my arm more than my legs. I saw a neurologist who gave me Mirapex. It worked , but my body got used to it quickly. Before I increased my dose, I was involved in a car accident and was back on narcotics. Pain never went completely away, so I saw a pain DR.

He put me on a fentanyl patch. Sleep problem solved. BUT, when the patch runs out, my body gets electric stimuli anytime of the day, can be in multiple locations at 1 time. Sleep is not possible until new patch is absorbed. I have had sleep study done, found out I had apnea, but nothing on nerve issues. The thought of being on fentanyl the rest of my life does not make me smile. I do not know ehat my problem is or called, had to treat, prognosis.

Any ideas?
Thx.
