A trip to the emergency room

My husband was diagnosed with RBD about 3 years ago. I knew that that is what he had years before but couldn’t find a dr. who understood what is going on.
A year ago he was waking me up on average 3 times a night, with his screaming, punching yelling, swearing, and many nights him falling out of bed. He has put a hole in the wall, cut his hands, head, gone head first into the dresser, but only once ever left the room.
Just lately his loud nights have come back, his nightmares are becoming more of his nights again.
Yesterday I came home during the day, he heard me and woke up from his nap, so I thought. He started talking about the monsters that were here and coming after him. I called 911 and for the next 3 hours he was in his nightmare. He did not know any of his family, but trusted me to keep him away from the monsters. He ran away from the er, resulting in the security staff, 3 nurses, myself and son holding him down to keep him safe. He was sure we were not going to be alel to keep him safe. They sedated him, did a CAT scan. Results were- this is another result of RBD. They will up his clonazepam from 5.milligrams to 7. milligrams. This is so scary for me, I am scared for myself, him and my family. What if this happens again and he thinks we are the monsters and physically hurts us or himself.
How much have any of you heard is TOO much clonazepam? 5 mgs. really makes him lethargic what is 7 mg going to do?
I am also looking for a dr. who REALLY knows RBD. I know most of what we know because of the internet. My husband has an internalist, phychiatrist, neurologist, and they just don’t seem too concerned that he lost 3 hours of his life yesterday to a nightmare. He is in the hospital for one more night because I convinced the neurologist of how scared I was to have him home alone with me.
Can anyone help me out here, please.

Just to clear up any confusion I am not taking and have not been taking any anti-depressents. I was taking anti-anxiety meds because I was planning and preparing my wedding by myself and under an excessive amount of stress, which makes my episodes more frequent and more violent. [more..]
