I could easily sleep in till 1 in the afternoon, get up for a bit, then go back to sleep an hour later! I was always falling asleep in school, church, on the bus, in the car. Of course I was just labeled as lazy! Then it was time to go to college, but I had to drive back and forth 1/2hour each way. I basically had to eat to keep myself awake while driving, but I still had a few close calls! Then during my classes I had a few teachers yell at me, because I would fall asleep! VERY embarassing! Everybody was always asking me if I was tired. So finally, I went to see my doctor who sent me to the sleep lab where I had two tests done! That’s when I was diagnosed with narclepsy! I’ve yet to go on any meds, because I was pregnant, then got pregnant again, and I just haven’t been back to see the doc! I’m kinda scared that I’ll have my license taken away! Then how would I get to work?! So right now I’m struggling with staying awake at work and such! Meetings are the worst!! I also struggle with cataplexy! That tends to only happen when I really let myself go when my hubby is around! I actually find it funny! Except for when I’m going face first into my dinner! Or I fall on my ass on the street! That kinda sucks! One frustration I have, is I try to explain to people what I have, and they’re just like “oh yea, I get like that too”, or “you just need to get a B12 shot”. if only it was that easy! Comments
