To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome I used to think I had insomnia. I remember being 5 and sitting in my dark room wide awake at night - I have had this my entire life! I usually get tired around 3 or 4 am and sleep soundly to 11 or 12 when left to my own devices. I am currently in high school and get very little sleep as I am UNABLE to sleep before 3, so I took a spare morning block, which is nice. Sometimes if I need to wake early the next day (appointment or something)I take melatonin around 11 pm and it helps me sleep earlier (although I tend to have nightmares so I don’t take it often) anyway I am glad this disorder has a name because it makes me feel like less of a freak!! and I am glad to know I am not the only extreme night owl out there!
