To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download DSPS with Epilepsy Hi to all readers, I was first diagnosed with epilepsy at age 12, and although I have we it figured out that my condition was based on sleep. If i didn’t sleep enough in any giving night, I would have a seizure shortly after waking up. Which was ok because I was a morning person and would wake up every morning at 7am happy, jumping in the shower and starting my day…. I was properly controlled my meds, and never had a problem with my eplipsy until my last year of high school. I was 18-19 and start having problms and almost didnt graduate highschool (a teacher that taught parenting seen what i was going through and gave me a 50% just to get my final credit) I tried college and university aftwards, but the DSPS was worse by then, plus I did not know what was going on. Many trips to the doctors and all they kept telling me is I am suffering from depression and wanted me on paxil and clanozopam and whatever else. I was refusing to take the meds because I knew I just couldn’t get to sleep until 5-7am. When I finally diagnosed with DSPS I had something to learn, and it has been an uphill battle ever since. As many of you in relationships realize how hard it is when you go to bed 5-7am and everybody from friends to family telling you “must be nice to sleep all day” or “all you do is sleep” But this last year in a half has been a rebirth for me. Im engaged to a wonderful woman who understand what I am going through, and works with me on it. I have also became partners in a business ( Im not sure if i can say what type so I will leave it blank), and it works great because my partner handles all the day to day things during business hrs like meetings ( I attend them when Im awake during business hours of course) but when I am up and nobody is around I get alot of work done so my business partner has more time bring back work to clients, or getting more clients. I still get upset when I miss out on family gatherings or some other things, but I also am happy to realize that things are starting to turn around in my life Comments
