To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Mom with DSPS teen I just took my teen to Johns Hopkins Sleep Center after 5 years of being sent from specialist to specialist and being told it was depression among other things. He has severe DSPS. The sleep doc recommended bright light (at least 20 minutes outside) within the first hour of waking to help reset the body clock. He relayed that Rozerem is the only sleep med that focuses on circadian rhythm. Like melatonin, it is not intended to put you to sleep. The other sleep drugs do that, and for my teen, just made him sleep longer. The doc told us to follow a strict wake/sleep time and told us that sleep should be in total darkness. Napping and laying in bed when not tired were highly discouraged. Comments
