I have been continuously diagnosed with chronic insomnia and variously treated for it with no real effect. Now, after six years and me constantly explaining that once i GET to sleep i’m ok (its the getting to sleep and getting up thats the problem at a socially acceptable time thats the problem) they’ve finally decided it might be Delayed sleep phase syndrome instead.

I just took my teen to Johns Hopkins Sleep Center after 5 years of being sent from specialist to specialist and being told it was depression among other things. He has severe DSPS.

I’m a 14 year old teenager from Taranaki, New Zealand. Tonight I finally had had it with my terrible sleeping patterns, so I looked through all the sleep disorders on Wikipedia. I came across DSPS, and it matches my symptoms completely.

i just found this site tonight, i’t 2am and i’m up as usual watching my favorite tv shows, knowing i have to be up at 7am. i’ve read all the stories submitted here and you all have lived my life.
