For years I’ve fought frequent bouts of depression guilt, stress and all of the stuff that goes along with being considered “lazy” and having issues with work and school due to my “awkward” sleep habits. So many times in my life I’ve been told to “Go to bed earlier!” It’s so hard to get people to understand that “I just can’t!!” I hate the way people frown upon me , especially my family when I’m still awake or just getting to sleep when the rest of them would be waking up to start their day. Being chronically late for school and work was always an issue and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t fix it. Finding a name for this and knowing that it really isn’t just me is the most relieving thing I’ve ever found. I wanted to cry when I first read the information on DSPS. Everything about it fits, I can’t wait to be able to talk with a doctor or someone who can help me to get on a normal schedual, or maybe make a career change to something more fitting to my own lifestyle.
