To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome I just read the articles on this site on DSPS, which I never heard of before, and it really describes what is wrong with me. I am 31, and for 6+ years I haven’t been able to fall asleep at a normal time. Usually I fall asleep between 3am and 6am. I need a lot of sleep and cannot wake up after less than 8 hours. As a result I feel lot of guilt for my “bad habits”, being “lazy”, and people say I’m undisciplined for going to bed and getting up late. I’m self-employed, so that helps, but it still costs me time I could be working with clients. The articles on DSPS say that it can be brought on by a head trauma. I had a pretty bad head trauma 6 years ago. I am going to talk to my doctor about DSPS and the treatments mentioned on this page. I hope she can help me find a way to end it. It affects every part of my life, and not the least damaging is my self-esteem. I wonder if my periodical bouts with depression are also caused by this. It’s great to finally know the name of my problem, and to know that I’m not the only one who has it. Even more importantly, now I know it’s not my own fault or failure. Thanks for the information on your site! Comments
