Hi all,

I too found DSPS after researching on the web. I’ve slept like this since I was a teenager, finding it impossible to sleep till 3 or 4am then waking early evening! Currently my times are all over the place. But I’m off to see my GP and disscus DSPS to see if taking melatonin and light therapy will work and discuss any side effects.

I am so relieved that I am not the only person with sleeping pattens like this and it has a name, now hope people will stop calling us ‘lazy’ simply because we are not alert during the same times they are. I certainly DO NOT do this deliberately and would love to have the same routines as everyone else. I hate missing out on things that my family does because I can’t wake up but trying to go to sleep earlier is just pointless and I will lie in bed from 11pm to 6am tossing and turning unable to sleep, it’s as though I am on a different time to everyone else either a longer cycle or just not attuned to light the same way.

I wish everyone who finds this site good luck managing their DSPS and hope we can all find solutions to achieve the outcomes we all want.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE : )
